There's such a huge lesson to be learned in this virtue.
So many times, we sit in comfort because it's the obvious choice. It's the safe choice, it's the one that makes sense.
But how often does that not serve you? How many times have you been in a position where you chose the obvious path and regretted later that you didn't take the one that pushed you out of your comfort zone?
Do you know what happens when you do. that?
You wonder.
You ask yourself "what if."
What if I took that job across the country?
What if I applied to that school?
What if I started that business?
I see this ALL the time in my studio.
My clients come in and their body language alone says it all.
This is their "what if."
What if they booked that session?
What if they were brave and showed up?
What if they tried that outfit they always wanted to?
Do you know what happens when you answer those what if questions? When you seek the answers and find out "what if"?
You don't wonder anymore. You know. You know what happens when you take that chance.
Now, I'm not naive enough to think that every time you try something new or that's out of your comfort zone that it will be this amazingly positive life changing experience...because it's not. It won't be every time.
Sometimes you'll fail. And it'll suck. And sometime's you'll learn that maybe after all that thing isn't for you. And that's okay - you reevaluate and make yourself uncomfortable and head towards that next thing (whatever that may be.)
But sometimes - sometimes you succeed. Sometimes it's better than you could have ever imagined. sometime's it turns out to be the thing that you were looking for and never knew you needed.
